Circular Motion with a Turntable

Uses: Investigation of centripetal force, and static friction

Objects with friction can be placed at different radii. They fly off when the centripetal force required at the particular radius exceeds the maximum static friction force.

Another type of mass without radial friction is held on by a force sensor. A digital readout indicates the centripetal force.

Other readouts include rpm, radians/sec, tangential velocity, mass, radius.
