From the "ReZap!" Lab you should know...
- Rubbing the white plastic strip with paper gives the plastic a negative charge and the paper a positive charge.
- Rubbing the clear plastic strip with paper gives the plastic a positive charge and the paper a negative charge.
- You should understand how charges move in an electroscope when a negative or positive strip is brought near the plate and removed or when it is brought into contact with the plate.
- You should have encountered the technique of charging by induction and have some idea of how it occurs.
- You should know how to use a charged electroscope to determine the sign of the charge on another body.
- You should have developed an idea of the difference between conductors and insulators and how to test for the ability to conduct.
- You should have discovered that an insulator or a conductor can be attracted to a charged body.
