From the "ReZap!" Lab you should know...

  1. Rubbing the white plastic strip with paper gives the plastic a negative charge and the paper a positive charge.
  2. Rubbing the clear plastic strip with paper gives the plastic a positive charge and the paper a negative charge.
  3. You should understand how charges move in an electroscope when a negative or positive strip is brought near the plate and removed or when it is brought into contact with the plate.
  4. You should have encountered the technique of charging by induction and have some idea of how it occurs.
  5. You should know how to use a charged electroscope to determine the sign of the charge on another body.
  6. You should have developed an idea of the difference between conductors and insulators and how to test for the ability to conduct.
  7. You should have discovered that an insulator or a conductor can be attracted to a charged body.
