COMPARISON OF ADVERBS

The comparative form of an adverb is the same as the neuter comparative adjective; it always ends in -ius.

e.g.

adj. clarior, clarius-clearer adv. clarius-more clearly
adj. levior, levius-lighter adv. levius-more lightly



N.B. several adverbs have irregular comparative forms.

bene-well melius-better optime-best
male-bad peius-worse pessime-worst
paulum-little minus-less minime-least
magnopere-greatly magis-more maxime-most
