III. Syllabus - Back

How to Use the Syllabus

The attached syllabus gives a lesson (Lectio) by lesson detail of what students will see on the agenda page of the AP® Latin Literature Internet site.

I ask that the facilitator or student access daily the Announcements section of the AP® Latin Literature KET Internet site for any changes that might occur in the syllabus. Students also have copies of the syllabi to help guide them through the expectations I have for them during the class.

All test and quizzes listed on the syllabus are on the Internet.

There are a number of ungraded activities in the syllabus that are usually located in the Related Links section of the AP® Latin Literature KET Internet site. These usually will run for several days to allow students easy access to the activities. Students may need to be encouraged to work on these ungraded activities. The facilitator may give quiz grades or extra credit points for any of these activities if this is needed to motivate a student. Most AP® Latin Literature students have the zeal to work on materials that will enhance their Latin skills.

I encourage students to participate in the National Latin Exam, which usually occurs in mid March. An application will be available on the AP® Latin Literature KET Internet site in December. It is important that their records show you as a distance learning site and that the students are following the KET course. There will also be a set of past exams and helpful guidelines for students to use as they prepare for this exam.
