Translate each sentence and answer questions about italicized words:

1. Sole orto, dentes draconis in agro eodem viro ponendi sunt.

    Translation: At the rising of the sun, the teeth of the dragon must be placed in the field by the same man.

     viro: case and reason?

    Answer: Dative of agent with passive periphrastic

 

2. Quis Medeae persuasit ut lasoni dentes daret?

    Translation: Who persuaded me to give Jason teeth?

    Medeae: case and reason?

    Answer: Dative with persuasit

    lasoni: case and reason?

    Answer: Dative with indirect object

 

3. Partem solis vidi; simillima auro erat.

    Translation: I saw part of the sun, it was very similiar to gold.

    solis: case and reason?

    Answer: Partitive genitive

    auro: case and reason?

    Answer: Dative of comparison
