How to Use Additional Activities

Facilitators,

At your discretion, you may insert any of the activities below into the material. The activities range from one-page worksheets to full projects, so hopefully you can find something that suits your schedule. If you have other ideas, please feel free to try them, but be sure to drop me an email — I will want to include them in this collection!

Grading the Additional Activities

No grade slots exist for individual activities, since there are so many of them. Instead, you will find a 20-point grade slot in the homework category for each chapter. These are named "Opt. Ch XX Homework." You will also find two 50-point quiz slots (called "Opt. Quiz 1" and "Opt. Quiz 2") and one 100-point test slot (called Opt. Test) spread throughout the course. These grade slots are unlocked. You may choose to assign an additional activity and enter scores in one of these slots at your discretion, but please note: These are the only slots available for additional work. Please give priority to completing the required assignments.

If you have any questions regarding these additional assignments or grading them, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Quattuor Fratres

A logic puzzle that requires lots of patience, this is a good classwork during extra class time. You could make it a competition to see who can solve it first. I advise you to download this exercise onto hard copy. I do not recommend giving a grade for this: it is purely for fun!
