Student Duties and Responsibilities
- Be interactive: Language learning is a two-way process; participate by calling the teacher with questions, e-mail or send messages via the KET message system; share ideas in the Forum on the Latin II web site.
- If you miss a class, make up missed work quickly; check the Internet for what you missed and be prepared when you return to school. Call a classmate or KET for the assignment if you cannot connect to the Latin II site at home.
- Come to class prepared with books, completed assignments, pencil, notecards and binder.
- Always do homework with care and thoroughness. Homework reinforces the day's lesson and is necessary for you to retain grammar and vocabulary.
- Make vocabulary note cards and use them. Play games with them. A few minutes each day will make your vocabulary grow.
- Be positive and enthusiastic; it's contagious.
- Call or e-mail me if you don't understand or remember something. We all forget at times and need reassurance.
- Reread text explanations or review the video tape.
- Check the KET Latin II web site for language reinforcement games (Verba, Grammatica, Cetera).
- To Do Right Now:
- Complete the Student Photo and Information Form in this guide and return it to your facilitator. Include a wallet-sized photo. With your agreement and the consent of your parent or guardian, KET will post class and student photos on the web site, available only to those with KET passwords.
- Get a three-ring binder, index cards, and a box in which to store them.
