Cumulus (cumulus, -i, m. "mass") clouds are big and fluffy. They are known as "fair-weather" clouds because they are often seen in warm air on sunny days, and disappear at night. They can often pile up and form cumulonimbus clouds, and produce rain. They are seen about 3 miles up in the atmosphere. | ||||||
