Links to all of the Underworld
Keres, the 'Hounds of Hades,' belonged to the Furies. The Keres had red robes, wings, and long, white teeth. They were sent from the Underworld by the Furies to track down mortals who had broken oaths or plotted murders.
They pursued their victim on land and sea, going from country to country. When they caught up with their mortal prey they would bear down and grasp him in their sharp teeth. After a successful capture they would return with the guilty mortal to the Furies.
