The famed sculptor Phidias crafted a statue of Zeus that became one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Zeus' statue sat in an enormous temple at Olympia. Phidias used ivory for the god's flesh and gold for his garments. In one hand, Zeus held a sceptor and in the other a statue of Nike.
