Mortal Inhabitants in Mt. Olympus
There have been a few inhabitants of Olympus other then the gods themselves. This is a rare occurance, but in the odd and fickle minds of the gods, they sometimes made exceptions. One such exception were the Dioscuri. These twin brothers, Castor and Polydueces, were champion athletes. They trained such individuals as Hercules. The gods decided to diefy Polydueces for his works and Castor was given permision reside in Olympus for part of the year. Ganymede caught the eye of Zues. He was the son of King Tros. Zues admired the young prince and brought him to Olympus to be the cup bearer. Zues compensated the King with horses of Olympus. Sources:
