Empire State Building
New York, New York, 1931. One of the most famous buildings in the world, the Empire State Building was the tallest building in the world for over 30 years. It is a prime example of a modern skyscraper, with a steel skeleton allowing its height. It also has decorative elements of the Art Deco style that would soon be eliminated in the International Style of architecture.
